• Sole Giménez: "Happiness, which is talked about a lot, is an attitude"

A few days ago, the new edition of the

Inspiring Stories by Evax

project was presented at the Madrid Botanical Garden

,

an illustrated book that collects stories of incredible women to inspire young women and make their dreams come true in which there are no limits. The book was presented as part of the

Inspiring Girls

Awards gala

where

Alaska received the Pioneer Woman Inspiration Award.

Along with her Carlos Latre, Inspiring Man Award and the designer

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

, Artistic Inspiration Award.

You just turned 58, are you in the best moment of your life? I don't know because we will have to see what comes next.

I was better at 50

, I have that very clear, physically and mentally. That does not mean that I cannot be better at 68 ... Would you change something about your professional career? No, it is the one I have chosen with my successes and my mistakes. And they are

MY

successes and

MY

mistakes. You have just published with Fangoria 'Existentialism pop' What are we going to find again in this musical proposal? As its title indicates, it is pop, but with something else, in the lyrics and the production. It is an album that has emerged as a result of the moment we live in. In the song 'Absolute Momentism' you bet on 'carpe diem'. Isn't there another one? It is not that we have no other choice, the thing is

it is life

. When listening to this song, everyone has associated it with the pandemic, but Nacho and I think about life. We are an example of people who in their career and in their life

have lived like this, to the day

, to what there is in each moment ... How did the history of this issue arise? It arose from a phrase of the great starlet, singer , Argentine actress and presenter

Moria Casán

. They did an interview with her, in which she was talking about her love life, and she answered that she was in "absolute momentism" and it seemed to us that it reflected very well what we wanted to tell.

In the book 'Inspiring Stories by Evax' which of the seven stories has reached you the most or has been the most surprising? The one that most catches my attention, out of insane envy, is the story of the artificial intelligence (AI) programmer

Nerea Luis.

In addition, the most amazing thing is that she decides to become an engineer thanks to

Sailor Moon

(a character from the manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi). I think it's wonderful! They tell us that manga, comic, pop,

is not inspiring

, that there are other things deeper, but inspiration is everywhere. Nerea, at 13 years old, being a Sailor fan, goes on the internet to look for information about her and realizes that there is almost none and that there is not well organized. Then she starts to do it, I am very envious of her! What would you say to girls who have a clear professional vocation, whatever it is, firefighter or police officer, so that they do not abandon their dream? That they think of that vocation as a hobby ... That maybe they are not going to dedicate themselves professionally to it. They may not make a living from it, but they don't have to give up their dream. I still consider that

I have a hobby for which sometimes they pay me and other times it costs me a lot of money.

I don't think you can be a firefighter as a hobby, or maybe you can, working as a Civil Protection volunteer in your free hours. Vocations can always materialize. Don't get frustrated if you don't become a profession. If that happens that is a gift. So go ahead! You are also one of the winners of the Inspiring Girls Foundation Awards, what do you think has been your message to receive this distinction? At my age it is very easy to say because there is a trajectory and we can stop at many moments and in the history of this country through television, music. I think they give it

to my 14 year old self

who decides in the afternoons after school to create a music group and start what she considers to be real life and thus create her parallel world. You will be with great friends like Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, what would you highlight of this multidisciplinary artist ? She has an impressive career, but I'm going to the Agatha I knew in the 80s. That girl who was waiting to do her designs by putting a 'hula hoop' to a skirt and parading.

She is a person who has owned her career and, perhaps, the clothes she designed were not what her family and society expected of her.

I remember her principles and what she does is a reflection of who she is.

What message would you give to young women who do not know what to do with their life or who are doubtful about the studies to choose? It is something in which it is very difficult to advise. It is very easy to tell someone to do what they love. What happens to me lately is that

you meet many people who do not even know what they like, and there, they disarm me!

.

My problem is being able to choose, there are many things I want to do.

Perhaps they have not found the right teacher or person to discover a new world for you.

I would tell them to pay attention and have their ears and eyes wide open. A message or advice for them to own their life? First, do not ask for advice.

You have to care zero what others think, whether with the best or the worst intention.

Do not listen to advice that you have not asked and what you have in mind do it.

And period!
