Hidden in the Longchuan River Valley of Chuxiong, Yunnan is an ancient town that has been forgotten for thousands of years. Recently, reporters walked into this ancient town of Heijing, which is not well known to the public, to uncover its long-standing history.

  Heijing Ancient Town is located in the northwestern part of Lufeng County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is a small town that has been closed in the Longchuan River Valley for almost a century. It is also one of the four ancient towns in Yunnan.

The ancient town of Heijing has a long history of salt culture.

According to records, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the salt industry became the economic pillar of Heijing, also known as the "Salt Capital".

In addition, there are many cultural relics and historic sites in the ancient town, such as Tang and Song Dynasty style squares, Ming and Qing style houses, ancient steles, stone carvings, ancient towers, stone archways, ancient tombs, ancient stages, and ancient temples.

There are a total of 24 cultural relic sites in Heijing Ancient Town included in the scope of the third national cultural relics census.

  At present, the ancient town of Heijing is building an ancient town heritage tourism destination integrating salt sightseeing, salt experience, and salt vacation, realizing intelligent management and services.
