“The southern coast of the Black Sea and the Turkish coast of the Mediterranean are still dry subtropics, and summer is usually a very dry season,” the specialist said.
He noted that for Greece and Turkey, the period from June can be assessed as fire hazardous.
“This summer, this fire hazardous period came a little later due to the peculiarities of the atmospheric circulation in the first summer months,” the expert added.
Earlier it was reported that in Turkey, new forest fires occurred in the Bodrum area in the Mugla province and in the Didim area in the Aydin province.
Also, fires were recorded in Adana, Kayseri and Mersin.
It is noted that the evacuation of hotels has begun in Marmaris.
