On the night of the 28th, a maximum of 125,000 households lost power in a wide area such as Hanno City and Kawagoe City in Saitama Prefecture.

According to TEPCO, the power outage was thought to be the result of a lightning strike, and all had been restored by dawn on the 29th.

According to TEPCO, power outages occurred in a wide area such as Hanno City and Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture from around 7:30 pm on the 28th, and up to about 125,100 households had power outages before 9 pm.



In some areas, power outages stopped multiple traffic lights, causing police officers to control traffic at intersections, but all power outages were restored before 1:00 am on the 29th.



At the time of the power outage, Saitama Prefecture was hit by thunderclouds that developed due to unstable atmospheric conditions.



For this reason, TEPCO considers that a power outage was caused by a lightning strike and is investigating the detailed cause.
