The Public Prosecution Office in Kuwait decided to imprison a “famous” Kuwaiti actor for 21 days on charges of bringing narcotics from outside the country.

A number of newspapers, including the Kuwaiti "Al-Rai", revealed the initials of the actor's name "A.K." without clearly indicating his name or other details about the process of his arrest and the circumstances of the case.

The Public Prosecution had investigated the accused, after his arrest, and he said during the investigations that he had become addicted while he was filming a work of art in an Arab country.

And Shaheen's account, via the "Instagram" website, revealed that the accused artist is Ali Kakoli, without there being any proof or evidence of the authenticity of the information.

A news report published by "Al-Qabas" revealed that 65% of the crimes that occur inside Kuwait are related to the sale, abuse or promotion of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

According to the sources, "out of every 50 cases considered by the security services in the country, there are 35 cases related to drugs, and that about 50 to 60 percent of the total prisoners were convicted in drug cases."
