The group BTS topped the US Billboard's main single chart 'Hot 100' for 9 weeks in a row.



US Billboard announced on the 26th (local time) that BTS had ranked first on the 'Hot 100' chart (as of July 31) with the digital single 'Butter' released in May. 'Butter' maintained the top of the 'Hot 100' for 7 weeks in a row, starting with the chart on June 5. Last week (July 24), 'Permission to Dance' took first place on the chart, but returned to the top after a week. He took first place for the 8th time in his career.



As if proving that BTS is a '21st century pop icon', they competed happily with their songs and dominated the Billboard main chart without missing the #1 spot on the 'Hot 100' for more than two months.



Billboard covered this news by posting an article on its official website titled "BTS' 'Butter' has returned to the top of the 'Hot 100'. Most tied for 1st place this year." Billboard said, "'Butter' rebounded from 7th to 1st last week and took the 8th place, becoming the '2021 (Hot 100) Most No. said.



Citing MRC data, Billboard said, "'Butter' recorded 30.7 million radio listeners in the weekly count until July 22.This is a 2% increase from the previous week's tally. In addition, the number of downloads in the U.S. was counted at 115,600, a 132% increase from the previous week's count."



'Permission to Dance', which took first place (Hotshot debut) in the first week of entry by pushing out 'Butter' last week, was ranked 7th on the 'Hot 100' on July 31 this year.



According to Billboard, the artist who achieved the number one spot on the 'Hot 100' with his own song, 'Baton Touch', and then returned to the top without giving up the first place to another artist, is BTS in the history of Billboard. this is the first time



On the other hand, on the 'Digital Song Sales' chart, 'Butter' again topped the chart, and 'Permission to Dance', which had ranked first in the previous week, was ranked second.
