The General Secretariat of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award revealed the names of the winners of the 10th session of the award, which was titled "Humanity".

Brazilian photographer Ari Bassos won the grand prize, valued at $120,000, while Arab photography creativity shined with a number of photographers, namely, Youssef Al-Habashi Al-Hashemi, the Lebanese Marc Abu Joudeh, and the Moroccan Fatima Al-Zahra Sharqawi.

What is remarkable about this cycle is that the Indonesian lens achieved great success in the various award competitions throughout the year, as it booked four places in the list of winners through the photographers Yadi Stiadi, Bambang Werawan, Charles Saswinanto and Amri Arvianto.

Bin Thalith praised the Arab presence in this international forum, considering that the victory of photographers from the Emirates, Lebanon and Morocco is a positive indication of the strength of the Arab photographic creativity against the challenges that put millions of photographers in a state of silence, while some considered his lens a weapon capable of making historical human differences.

Bin Thalith concluded by saying: "To all of these, we salute the humanity that united and decided to recover and triumph over life."

The 10th edition witnessed the presentation of three categories of special awards, namely the “Photographic Content Creators Award” and “The Promising Photographic Personality / Institution Award”, in addition to the “Appreciation Award” granted to photographers who have contributed positively to the photographic industry.

American photographer Randy Olson won the Appreciation Award for his 30-year career in leadership projects, initiatives and actions in more than 50 countries, including founding the Photo Society to provide audience and promote members as the printing economies dwindle.

The National Geographic Society published a book on his work in the Masters of Photography series in 2011.
