[Commentary] Affected by the typhoon "fireworks", there was serious water accumulation in the Xinzhu section of Luojin Road, Hongmei South Road, Shanghai.

At 19:30 on July 26, the reporter saw at the scene that there was serious accumulation of water along Xinzhu Road in Shanghai, which had already flooded the calves, and citizens could only "drift" and walk.

There is obviously a lot of water inside the shops along the street, sandbags are erected at the door, and the pumping work is still in progress.

  [Concurrent] Mr. Zhang, shop owner

Starting from yesterday, it rained yesterday, and the sewers on this road often accumulate water. I think it has been repaired many times, but the problem has not been solved.

This time the (rain) was heavier than before, because there was no water on the (sidewalk) in the past, and now it is all on the water. If the (water) is higher, it will be watered, so I just came in.

  Mr. Xu, Store Clerk

Sandbags are self-made and cannot stop the water.

Since the flooding started yesterday, the store is better than yesterday.

[Explanation] According to the staff of the Transportation Committee of Minhang District, Shanghai, after receiving the accumulation of water on the afternoon of July 25, the relevant departments immediately rushed to the scene to implement the water supply and urban investment pumping work, and arranged to evacuate the water users. Move to a nearby resettlement site for temporary stay.

All the big pumps on the road are now pumping water.

What causes stagnant water?

Now it is the flood control wall of the Huangpu River. The water level is only 20 cm away from the flood control wall. All the inland river water cannot be drained out. Now it can only be drained by pumps, that is, flush directly into the river.

Because this side is directly connected to the Dianpu River, the water level of the Dianpu River is so high that it can’t be discharged by itself, so it can only be pumped.

It was not so big in previous years because the typhoon was too severe this year. The water level could not have been so high before because the area covered by rain was relatively wide.

[Explanation] After continuous pumping, the current water level has slowly dropped, and the rescue force has been increased at the scene.

At 16:00 on July 26, the Shanghai Central Meteorological Observatory updated the typhoon yellow warning signal to a typhoon blue warning signal.

At 18:32, the official Weibo of the Shanghai Meteorological Administration announced that the center of typhoon "Fireworks" is located in Wujiang District of Suzhou City at 18:00 and will move northwest in the future. It will pass from the second half of the night of July 26 to the morning of July 27. Same latitude in Shanghai (People's Square).

From July 26 to July 27 at noon, there were still heavy rains to heavy rains in Shanghai, and heavy rains in some areas. The rain began to weaken at noon and turned cloudy to cloudy with showers or thunderstorms.
