It doesn't look nice, the photo of Marc Jacobs' bandaged face.

The picture, which the American fashion designer posted on Instagram on Wednesday after a face lift, shows him with thick bandages around his head and tubes to drain blood and fluid from the scars.

“Yesterday,” the fifty-eight-year-old let his 1.6 million subscribers know about it - and rejected gravity using a hashtag.

Jacobs is said to have gone under the knife with the New York plastic surgeon Andrew Jacono.

The doctor is considered a master of the deep plane facelift, in which the face is lifted en bloc in one layer.

Jacobs had already been embellished with the scalpel in the past.

Among other things, the former creative director of Louis Vuitton, who now sells his fashion under his own name, had the bridge of his nose widened a few years ago.

Many supporters praised Jacobs' openness on Wednesday.

"I think it's admirable that you don't hide the procedure," wrote a fan of the fashion designer, who lives with his husband Charly Defrancesco in Rye, northeast of Manhattan.
