The city of Aigues-Mortes (Gard) has been offering its inhabitants for a few days to obtain a badge "I am vaccinated", reports France 3 Occitanie.

This initiative aims to spark debate according to Arnaud Fourel, deputy mayor in charge of educational success, children, youth, sports and communication.

"This desire to set up these badges dates from mid-June, to create debate, discussion between people and in families," he explains.

Affirming their support for anti-Covid vaccination, the only solution to eradicate the pandemic, the municipality of Aigues-Mortes intends to promote exchanges.

But some see these badges as a form of discrimination between vaccinated and unvaccinated which would amount to dividing the French even more on the subject.

Profits from the sale of these pro-vaccine badges will be donated to charitable and social associations.
