The philosophy of Eid in Islam

Our tolerant Islamic law is a divine law that came to achieve one’s psychological and spiritual interests, both material and moral. The demands of the body in order to achieve the perfection of the soul were not neglected, because this would lead to lack of credibility with the soul or to exhausting the body until its interests are lost and the fact of its succession on earth is lost as well. The monks who created their monastic order did it, but they did not take care of it, and this is what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, referred to on the day he legislated the expansion on the soul on the day of Eid, and he said: “So that the Jews know that there is space in our religion, I was sent with a tolerant Hanifah.”

The Hanifiyyah is the religion that is inclined from the false religions that people invented, or whose people distorted the religion of God that he legislated for them and preserved it for them, so they distorted it according to their whims, and as for our religion, it is a tight law that has not been changed or altered since it came down from the wise, the praiseworthy, because God Almighty took care of preserving it himself. And He has prescribed for His servants what is right for their condition and their destiny Because the creatures created him, and He, Glory be to Him, knows best what is good for them, as He, His Exalted Ones, said: {Doesn’t he who is created know that He is the Gentle, the All-Aware? It is giving the soul its share of innocent amusement, permissible play, and expanding in the good things of sustenance, which God has expanded upon the servant, as Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from the hadith of Aisha, may God be pleased with her:Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, entered upon her and she had two maids with her during the days of Mina who were being warmed and beaten, and the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was covering his clothes, so Abu Bakr rebuked them, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, revealed his face and said: “Leave them, Abu Bakr, for these are the days of Eid.” Aisha said: I saw the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, cover me while I was looking at Abyssinia while they were playing in the mosque, so Umar rebuked them, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Leave them, safe Banu Arfdah.”

Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, rebuked the two maidservants, and Umar, may God be pleased with him, rebuked Abyssinia; Out of reverence and reverence for the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family and companions, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, made everyone safe; Because he wants to legislate spaciousness and people on these days, which are the days of Eid, and they are the ones in which people in their ignorance were accustomed to fun and amusement, as was narrated by Anas, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to Medina and they had two days to play in them, so he said: What are these two days?” They said: There were two days in which we used to play during the pre-Islamic era, so the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “God has exchanged them for you with something better than them:The Day of Al-Adha and the Day of Al-Fitr” So he approved them to play and did not permit them to play the two days; Because their choice was in accordance with customs, and the two days that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, chose, were in accordance with acts of worship, indicating that worship does not neglect the right of the soul to rest and recreation, and Eid al-Adha has been expanded to include the three days of Tashreeq so that the fun expands somewhat, and includes the completion of sacrifices. In the number of days, as narrated by Uqbah bin Amer, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The day of Arafa, the day of sacrifice, and the days of al-Tashreeq are our festivals, the people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking.”

These meanings that the Eid includes in our Sharia should not be absent from us in the crowdedness and complexities of life, but with the controls of the Sharia. on any pretext; Because that is an injustice to the soul that does not release it.

The feast teaches the nobility of morals, so it is imperative for a person to have purity of folds and a safety of the chest from oppression and betrayal, so people exchange gifts, greetings and love, and this is a strong way to purify souls and safety of hearts, and it is imperative to continue the kinship, and this is a reason for extending the livelihood and prolonging the impact, and the preservation of the bonds of kinship that we are questioned about as we are asked about God-fearing, compassion and compassion for people, so that a rich society does not remain in need that struggles with the hardships of life alone. Rather, the feast is a reason to search for those whom we consider rich in terms of abstinence, let alone those who ask people with curiosity, and it is imperative to look into those who have been harmed in the depths of prisons for rights that compelled them to be sympathetic Those in authority over them, so they relieve their suffering, pay off their debts, and pardon those who reconcile their affairs and straighten their crookedness.

This is what is felt by everyone in our blessed society, with the praise and grace of God.
