At about 20 o'clock on July 16, the policeman on duty in the brigade was carrying out a night patrol on the front line of the border and found a tortoise lying in the middle of the highway. Due to its strange appearance, the police believed that it was probably a rare species.

In order to protect wild animals, the police brought it back to the unit for temporary care and contacted the local forestry and grassland bureau in time.

The staff identified the tortoise as an endangered eagle-billed tortoise, also known as ratite, with a ferocious temperament and a national first-class protected animal.

At present, the eagle-billed tortoise has been handed over to the Jiangcheng County Forestry and Grassland Bureau for proper disposal.

The police of the Jiangcheng Border Management Brigade reminded that wild animals belong to nature, and when you encounter wild animals, you should keep a necessary distance from them.

If you encounter an injured wild animal, you can seek help from the forestry department or the public security organ. Don’t come into contact with wild animals without authorization, and consciously participate in the protection of wild animals, refuse to buy and raise wild animals, and jointly create a harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
