The fallen Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is still not aware of any guilt.

At an initial court hearing in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the sixty-nine-year-old pleaded not guilty.

California prosecutors accuse Weinstein of rape and sexual abuse.

The founder of the film companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company (TWC) is said to have forced five young actresses to have sexual encounters in hotels in Los Angeles and neighboring Beverly Hills between 2004 and 2013.

Weinstein was extradited from New York to Los Angeles on Tuesday by private jet.

After a guilty verdict for rape and abuse, a Manhattan court sentenced him to 23 years in prison in the spring of 2020.

The New Yorker's lawyers had repeatedly tried in the past few months to prevent extradition to California.

The reason they cited was the poor health of their client, who allegedly suffered from spinal stenosis, poor eyesight and other complaints.

If found guilty in Los Angeles, Weinstein faces 140 years in prison.
