What can I say.

It is unlikely that, of course, even a couple of decades ago, anyone could simply at least imagine that more and more reminiscent of a bad anecdote, surreal in fact, a picture that is quite objectively taking shape now in the current regime in the key one from the point of view of traditional energy logistics region in the east of the European subcontinent.

Even in the worst dream, and regardless of political, ethnic, gender and / or other preferences.

On both sides, not only the Ukrainian-Russian, but also the Ukrainian-Belarusian borders.

Here is, say, a story taking place right before our eyes.

As they say, watch your hands.

Of course, very funny information on the role of Ukraine in the negotiations between Germany and the United States on Nord Stream 2, how to put it mildly, is actually being openly leaked to the city and the world by the American publication Politico known for its proximity to the top of the US democratic establishment.

And believe me, these birds don't just chirp.

Of course, this information is not very sensational, but even without that it looks extremely funny: Politico sources in the White House (does anyone have doubts that the publication has them?) Have now finally and openly admitted that despite the fact that the Ukrainian authorities in the most obvious way “remain dissatisfied with the situation” around Nord Stream 2 (c), this should not worry anyone in this world at all.

And first of all, by the way, the Ukrainian authorities themselves.

Whatever they think of themselves is so important.

Indeed, given the current state of affairs, this is not their question.

Matches for children, in principle, are not toys.

And for such and such bad children it is, as they say, and in general ...

Moreover, as all the same "informed sources" from the US State Department report, the Ukrainian authorities were directly and rather categorically issued a very specific warning that any public statements by Ukrainian politicians against the US-Germany agreement could (literally) "harm the relations between Washington and Kiev. ".

That is, in Russian speaking, Kiev is ordered to shut up and, if possible, swallow when adults are talking.

At the same time, indigenous political chatterboxes, who are on the maintenance of patrons, were also openly and directly ordered to stop irritating the American Congress, which is not yet too well prepared for such unexpected turns in the air over the post-Soviet space.

Otherwise, the most unpleasant conclusions will be drawn in the Biden administration.

What can I say.

On the one hand, in the current situation with Nord Stream 2, Ukraine really can do little: even Russia has demonstratively moved away from the conflict between Germany and the United States over the "industrial heart of Europe" project, which is vital for the energy sector, right now being completed. Thus giving Germany the opportunity to independently defend its interests wherever it may be. Indeed, it looks quite logical: by and large, if you look at the situation with an open mind, this is a dispute between the transit countries of Russian gas. That is, between Ukraine and Germany. Russia itself, as a supplier, at least for a different pipeline route, has, in general, absolutely nothing to do with it.

No, of course, we sympathize more with Germans as reliable customers and even long-term partners.

But nothing more.

Here, after all, in general, if you look at the whole situation, everything becomes relatively simple and offensively pragmatic: the volume of LNG with which the American shale producers promised to “flood Europe” under Obama and Trump and which was supposed to displace the “Russian gas” By all evidence and for quite understandable reasons, in the near historical future, it is simply not even physically foreseen in European markets.

Moreover, at any price: we are already talking not about the price, but about the physical presence of the product on the market.

There is simply nothing to argue about: the American extractive industry is now especially not up to fat, and all the surplus will gladly absorb the premium markets of Southeast Asia, which this winter with its peak prices "on spots" has quite clearly and convincingly proved.

Consequently, the disputes over Nord Stream 2 really boil down to the issue of transit, and here for the Biden administration the choice between relations with Germany and the interests of Ukraine is quite obvious.

Anything else would simply be somewhat naive to assume.

And you don't need to invent anything - you need to accept it as a fait accompli.

We drove, as they say.

We dance further.

On the other hand, alas, this story has another, completely unpleasant continuation for the current Ukrainian government.

By the way, the Ukrainian authorities themselves, apparently, are well aware of this.

Although, most likely, it still underestimates a little.

The fact is that as soon as Ukraine finally loses not even "all transit" (some kind of transit, at least in the amount of the notorious corruption "reverse", we have no doubt, will be left), but its "significant part", then it in parallel, it will also cease to be of any economic interest for our common overseas "partners". Which, by the hands of Ukrainian leaders, held the European energy markets for one rather interesting place. And the Americans have no other economic interest in Ukraine, and everyone, in general, understands this very well. There is a political one, but there is a "price issue": the natives have to pay for their "civilizational choice", as you know, themselves. And this is their problem if they have nothing to pay.

And I just don’t need wonderful stories about “black soil” and “agrarian superpower”: both the United States and Europe are actively fighting for markets for their own agricultural products and are no less actively paying subsidies to their farmers not to make Ukrainian producers happy.

There is not even anything to talk about.

It's one thing when you somehow "sit on the pipe" and have every opportunity to influence the European energy markets.

And it is quite another thing when you own a pile of outdated scrap metal and if you are allowed to drive some volumes through this mess, then these volumes cannot influence the formation of the market and the formation of prices "in no way" anyway.

And it would somehow be completely naive not to understand.

So it turns out that in just a few years after the Maidan coup, Ukraine managed to finally depreciate, if you like, and turn from a prize, for which the European and Eurasian Economic Unions really fought at the end of Yanukovych's rule, into an encumbrance. And her further fate in this kind of situation becomes very, very vague, and the "Afghan analogies" are looming more and more clearly.

However, this is not so important any more, further - a matter of time only, and nothing more.

As for the specifics, excuse me, having lost sovereignty, voluntarily becoming an instrument in someone else's game, they do not cry for the GTS.

You guys have chosen this fate for yourself, and now if you are told to shut up from across the ocean, then it is better not to argue with that.

There is no need to anger the owners, they have a lot of worries without you now, except to bother for losers who have managed to lose everything, including the natural benefits from the geographical location of their own territory.

Everything is simple here: no need to ask "where are we going?"

near the train, which, by order of the authorities, was recently driven to a dead end.

For whatever reasons - none of your business.

Hands will reach - you look, and will go somewhere.

And if they don't get it, they'll take it apart for debts.
