A llama breeder in Bloye (Haute-Savoie) is having trouble digesting the death of one of his animals.

In an interview with France 3 on Tuesday, Dominique Griot recounts his recent mishap: “The lama had a huge stomach, like a big abscess.

At the bottom, the veterinarian found a piece of plastic, such as tarpaulin or packaging.

The victim of a hemorrhage, the animal suffered a fatal heart attack.

The autopsy is formal: the llama is indeed dead because of the plastic ingested.

"We keep our waste, we do not open the window to throw it away"

This is further proof of the consequent damage to wildlife and farm animals that can be caused by waste thrown into nature.

This is the message that Dominique Griot wishes to convey to the general public, after having also seen his neighbor's cow succumb to a piece of debris from a swallowed aluminum can.

He estimates that the amount of waste left in the wilderness has increased considerably since the start of the Covid-19 health crisis and the confinements.

“It's great, we are going for a walk in the countryside, we have a picnic, we have a drink, we are in the car, summarizes the breeder.

But we keep our waste, we do not open the window to throw it in nature or in parks.

The death of this lama cost in total nearly 6,000 euros to Dominique Griot.
