The Japan Coast Guard is calling attention to the fact that there are a series of accidents involving small boats called "mini boats" that do not require a license as the sea leisure season begins.

The "mini boat" is a small boat with a total length of less than 3 meters and an engine of 2 horsepower or less.

Since no license or inspection is required, the number of users is increasing for leisure activities such as fishing.

On the other hand, on the 19th, the Fushiki Coast Guard released a demonstration experiment to verify the danger on the Kokubunhama coast in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, saying that accidents are occurring one after another.

In an experiment to pick up an object dropped from a boat into the sea, when two coast guard officers on the boat approached one side of the boat together, the ship tilted greatly and fell.

Also, in an experiment in which the boat returned to the boat after falling, it was confirmed that the boat was tilted when clinging to it because the boat was light, and it was not easy to return.

According to the Fushiki Coast Guard, there have been six accidents in Toyama prefecture, such as the fall of a mini boat.

Masato Sakuragawa, Deputy Director of the Fushiki Coast Guard, said, "Since mini boats are small and unstable, please be careful when riding. Also, when you go out to the sea, check the weather information, make sure to wear a life jacket, and make it waterproof. I want you to bring your cell phone in a pack. "
