Regarding the vaccine for the new corona virus of American pharmaceutical company Moderna, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided to increase the age at which it can be inoculated from the current age of 18 to 12 years.

Pfizer's vaccine has already been expanded to include ages 12 and up.

When the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare approved the modelna vaccine in May, the age limit for vaccination was limited to 18 years or older, but after that, modela went to the United States for 12 to 17 years old. He submitted additional data to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for confirming efficacy and safety in the clinical trial.

In response to this, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare decided to add 12 to 17 years old to the age at which inoculation is possible, and reported at the expert group on the 19th.

In the near future, we plan to add it to the target of public vaccination and notify the local government.

Moderna is demanding an increase in the inoculation age outside of Japan, and examinations are underway in the United States and the EU to raise the target age to 12 years or older.

In Japan, Pfizer's vaccine was expanded to 12 years and older last month.
