"Telework Days" began on the 19th, calling for cooperation from the public and private sectors to work intensively on telework to alleviate traffic congestion during the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

In order to alleviate traffic congestion during the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics and prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the government will telework the seven weeks from 19th to September 5th, including the Games period, with the public and private sectors. We have defined it as "Telework Days", which we will focus on.

On the 19th of the first day, the department in charge of the spread of telework at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications reduced the number of employees to about 20% of the usual number by sharing schedules in advance, and worked while utilizing online meetings.

A person in charge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said, "I think that teleworking issues are becoming apparent in many companies, but I hope this initiative will be an opportunity to overcome the issues and take root."

The government has set a goal of increasing the number of companies and organizations participating in this initiative to 3,000, but so far only about 800 have announced their participation, and will continue to support companies. By disseminating information, we will call for cooperation not only at the venue of the competition but throughout the country.
