Livestock is a very important economic sector in Chad.
However, the country is struggling to properly exploit this sector.
Since the beginning of the 1970s, the Sahel has suffered from recurrent droughts which have damaged natural resources.
When one lives on livestock, the scarcity of fodder and water for watering livestock is a serious problem.

Some have had the temptation to sedentary the breeders, what the technicians have called the stabling.
Then we realized that in the state of poverty of families, it was impossible to attempt a sedentarization which requires large financial and technical resources.
There remains therefore Pastoralism, that is to say traditional transhumant breeding.

States concerned by environmental degradation in the Sahel have stepped up international meetings.
Then we got funding from the World Bank, in the amount of US $ 248 million.
This made it possible to implement the Praps.
This regional project targets populations, whose livelihoods depend mainly on pastoral activities, in particular the most vulnerable, primarily young people and women, in 6 Sahelian countries.
