The international organization Global Citizen has announced the holding of Global Citizen Live on September 25, a global event whose goal is to raise funds to defend the planet and end poverty.

And if these two ambitions will certainly not be achieved that day, the public will be able to enjoy a multitude of concerts given by some of the greatest artists of the moment and rebroadcast live.

There will really be something for everyone since Christine and the Queens, Billie Eilish, BTS, Coldplay, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, HER, Lizzo, Shawn Mendes or even The Weeknd have responded to the association's call.

For a fair recovery

The Global Citizen Live will be rebroadcast by a multitude of television channels around the world, but also by YouTube and Twitter. In addition to the concerts, activists and political leaders will speak from several prestigious venues around the globe, whether in Central Park or the Champ de Mars. "The Covid-19 has drastically reversed the progress made in meeting the United Nations sustainable development goals and pushed 160 million more people into extreme poverty," said Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, in a statement. press release relayed by Deadline before calling for a fair relaunch. “I would like to thank Global Citizen for organizing this major event in Paris from where, I hope, the whole world will hear this message:let's act together to build a fairer and more secure world, ”added Emmanuel Macron in a statement released by the organization.

Last May, the Vax Live, the latest event organized by Global Citizen, raised more than $ 300 million.

It remains to be hoped that the September meeting will do even better.
