Which film will succeed “Parasite”, Palme d'or 2019?

We'll find out at the end of the day.

The Cannes games have never seemed so open as this year. If the jury were made up of critics from all over the world,

Drive my car

would win the Palme d'Or. The Japanese Ryusuke Hamaguchi organizes the meeting of a theater director and a discreet young woman who serves as his driver. Both have to deal with mourning and their guilt ... But will this three-hour long film be of a nature to seduce the president of the jury, the black American Spike Lee?

The competition did not lack strong films, but very divisive:

Annette

, the musical by Leos Carax,

Titane

, genre film by Julie Ducournau which made many spectators fail, or

Petrov's Fever

, hallucinatory drift of an alcoholic Russian author suffering from the flu, signed Kirill Serebrennikov…

The predictions are a little easier for the interpretation prizes: Renate Reinsve, a 33-year-old Norwegian, wins in

Julie in 12 chapters

.

And among the actors, the festival-goers acclaim the Iranian Amir Jadidi, the interpreter of the moral tale

A hero.
