[Explanation] At about 3:30 on July 15, a water leakage accident occurred in the Shijingshan tunnel construction section of the southern section of the Xingye Express Line project in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, causing 14 construction workers to be trapped.
[Explanation] At noon on July 16, the reporter observed from the location closest to the tunnel entrance within reach. The rescue work at the scene is still ongoing. Rescue team members are constantly entering and exiting the tunnel entrance, and there are water covers on the ground at the tunnel entrance. There is also a lot of water on the other end of the road, which is continuously drawn out and is far from the tunnel entrance.
About 34 hours after the accident, the Information Office of the People's Government of Zhuhai City held a press conference to give a second report on the rescue situation of the accident.

As of 12:00 on July 16, the rescue operation surface had advanced 395.3 meters into the tunnel, 764.5 meters away from the trapped point, and the water level in the tunnel continued to drop.
The trapped persons still cannot be contacted.
[Explanation] Zhang Yisheng introduced that measures such as cofferdams for permeable points, combined with forced pumping and culvert drainage, have been adopted to reduce the water level of the reservoir. At present, the water level in the tunnel continues to drop.
However, the rescue work has also encountered some new situations and difficulties, and the progress of the rescue has been affected.

First, the geological situation is complicated.
It was found at the site that the permeable water above the tunnel not only contains reservoir water, but also a huge amount of mountain water.
Second, the situation at the job site is complicated.
On the one hand, the working surface in the tunnel is narrow, the drainage pump truck is difficult to enter, and the number of pump trucks that can operate at the same time is limited, which affects the drainage speed; on the other hand, the long-term operation of the pumping equipment in the tunnel emits a large amount of carbon monoxide, which causes the tunnel The concentration of carbon monoxide is rising rapidly, making field operations extremely difficult.
