From July 16th to 31st, the 44th World Heritage Conference will be held in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province.

Fuzhou has a long history of more than 2,000 years and has always been the main political and cultural center of Fujian Province, as well as a port city, shipbuilding center, and transportation center.

Since the Song Dynasty, banyan trees have been planted in Fuzhou City, so it is also known as the "Banyan City".

Fuzhou has a rich historical and cultural tradition. From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Fuzhou has trained hundreds of scholars.

It is also the hometown of many cultural celebrities and people of insight, and a group of people who have had an important influence on the society and modern Chinese history at that time have emerged, such as Lin Zexu, Shen Baozhen, Yan Fu, Bing Xin, Lin Huiyin and so on.

In recent years, Fuzhou has continued to carry out global and continuous protection and restoration of the city’s cultural heritage, successively repairing more than 180 key cultural relics, more than 1,300 ancient and historical buildings, creating 17 characteristic historical and cultural blocks, and protecting and renovating 261 traditional old buildings. The streets and lanes not only maintain the context, but also retain the homesickness.

The picture shows the Minjiang River, the mother river of Fujian, passing through the city from Fuzhou, with beautiful scenery on both sides.
