[Rural Revitalization] Wuyantou Village, Zhejiang: "Art Revitalization" gives new life to the "Hollow Ancient Village"
Wuyantou Village is located in Ningxi Town, Huangyan District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province.
There was a serious "hollowing" problem for some time.
In 2013, in response to the Zhejiang Provincial Government’s “Thousand Village Demonstration and Ten Thousand Village Renovation” rural reconstruction project, Huangyan District invited the team from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University to carry out the overall planning and reconstruction of Wuyantou Village. To a certain extent, the functions of the ancient village are preserved, while the appearance of the village is optimized.
Nowadays, Wuyantou Village is rated as a national traditional village, and the tourism income of the whole village is increasing year by year. In 2020, the number of visitors from the village exceeded 100,000, and this once-depressed ancient village has once again been full of vitality.
