She has 13 thousand dirhams worth of medicines for a year

A donor contributes 10 thousand dirhams of the cost of "Umm Ahmed" treatment

A donor contributed 10,000 dirhams of the cost of treating the patient “Um Ahmed”, who suffers from type 1 diabetes.

The patient still needs 13,000 dirhams worth of medicines for a year.

Umm Ahmed appealed to the well-to-do people to help her pay the value of the medicines so that she could continue her treatment.

He coordinated the "hotline" between the donor and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai to transfer the value of the donation to the patient's account at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital.

On the first of this month, “Emirates Today” published the story of “Umm Ahmed” suffering with the disease, in which she said that her health condition had deteriorated greatly in recent years, as she had a permanent dry throat, and a constant desire to drink water, and her desire to eat had doubled. This was accompanied by an increase in the number of times she went to the bathroom, sudden weight loss, blurred vision, as well as a constant feeling of fatigue and exhaustion, and her wounds not healing quickly, no matter how superficial.

She said that her health condition had deteriorated a lot, so she went to the emergency department at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital.

After examining her condition, the specialist doctor asked her to perform laboratory tests and analyzes.

The results of the tests showed that she suffers from a sharp rise in the sugar level, which resulted in a defect in the work of the pancreas, which made her body unable to produce enough insulin, and caused disturbances in the processes of building and demolishing the metabolism, and subsequently in her having type 1 diabetes. .

She adds: "The doctor advised me to follow a diet to prevent high blood sugar and pressure, in addition to exercising daily, and taking enough time for psychological rest. He also asked me to undergo periodic examinations."

Umm Ahmed added that the doctor prescribed her diabetes medications, and she continued to take them on time, she says, until her health condition stabilized, and she was able to control the sugar level in the body.

However, diabetes led to her suffering from many health complications, including permanently high pressure, a headache as a result of high pressure in the right eye, and arthritis, pointing out that she needs to take medication regularly, so as not to be exposed to further complications.

However, the value of her medicines is 23,000 dirhams for a year, and her family is completely unable to provide any part of the costs of the medicines.

She added: "My eldest daughter is the only breadwinner for us, and she works in a government agency in Abu Dhabi, with a salary of 10,000 dirhams, of which she pays 2,500 dirhams in bank installments, and 1,000 dirhams for rent, knowing that my family consists of four members." Umm Ahmed appealed to well-to-do people who are financially able to extend a helping hand to her, to help her buy medicines.
