After several days of uncertainty, the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso has already decided who will be the provisional administrator of Telemadrid:

José Antonio Sánchez

.

An old acquaintance of Madrid public television, who already held this position between 2011 and 2014 with Esperanza Aguirre as president of the Community of Madrid.

As EL MUNDO has learned, the former president of RTVE between 2014 and 2018 will be the substitute for

José Pablo López

once the Popular Party, with the abstention of Vox, managed last week to approve an express reform of the law to modify the system of election of the cupola of the autonomic television.

Sánchez has served on two occasions as the maximum president of RTVE: between 2002 and 2004 as general director and between 2014 and 2018 as president.

And he will repeat the same operation in Telemadrid, where between 2011 and 2014 he served as general director

and now he will do so as provisional administrator again under a

popular

government

.

The announcement of the dismissal of the current Board of Directors and the express reform of the law for Telemadrid has already raised criticism among opposition parties who accused the current president of Madrid of perpetrating an "assault" on the independence of the public entity and trying return to the "manipulation" of the time of Esperanza Aguirre.

Ayuso, who was not present at the Madrid Assembly session where the amendment of the law was finally approved, had stated in a previous session that "a public service without a public is not a service, but

a business for four people"

and had raised the chain's spending to "two zendales per legislature", in reference to the cost of the pandemic hospital.

"My mission as manager to guarantee the future, the audience and the quality of Onda Madrid and Telemadrid. That is why we reformed the law," Ayuso justified the regulatory change, which he managed to approve with the abstention of Vox and which lowers the mandate of the Council of Non-renewable four-year administration instead of the current six.

In addition, all the members that make up the leadership of Radio Televisión Madrid will be elected by the Assembly from among the candidates previously designated by the parliamentary groups.

A measure, as defended by the PP, which allows

"to improve the independence

, neutrality and objectivity" of the public candena.

Of the outgoing Council, five of the nine members were elected by civil society associations and the rest by the four formations that had representation six years ago.

And, according to opposition groups, this movement will mean that the public channel becomes "very Ayuso" that "will use it for their private interests as did Mrs. Esperanza Aguirre."
