Health.. Viruses and nervous stress that paralyze facial muscles

Neck stiffness and jaw pain are symptoms of facial paralysis.

The German Association of Neurologists said that facial muscle paralysis may be due to several reasons, such as viral infection or exposure to air currents, as well as inflamed swellings that cause narrowing in the facial muscle nerve channel, causing pressure on this nerve.

The association added that the factors that raise the risk of facial muscle paralysis are high blood pressure, diabetes, and excessive nervous pressure.

Symptoms of facial muscle paralysis are a stiff neck, pain in the jaw or behind one of the ears, as well as a drooping corner of the mouth or eyelids.

The association indicated that temporary paralysis of the facial muscles is not usually dangerous, but it requires consulting a neurologist to find out its causes, lest this paralysis be an indication of a stroke, for example.
