  On the 12th, the National Space Administration's Lunar Exploration and Space Engineering Center held a ceremony for the release of the first batch of lunar scientific research samples of the Chang'e-5 mission, and then the National Space Administration held a press conference to introduce the management of lunar scientific research samples.

  According to reports, on April 13, the information on the first batch of lunar samples from the Chang'e 5 mission was released online on the Chinese lunar exploration and deep space exploration network, and applications for borrowing began to be accepted.

A total of 44 scientific research samples were released in the first batch, a total of 56.8812g, including 23 light sheet samples with a total of 768.3mg, 19 cuttings samples with a total of 1112.9mg, and 2 powder samples with a total of 55g; the powder samples can be borrowed by multiple applicants. Light flakes and cuttings are exclusive.

  As of the deadline for application acceptance on May 31, China National Space Administration has received a total of 37 applications from 23 scientific research institutions from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Nuclear Industry Corporation, and the Aerospace Science and Technology Group. 85 applications.

  On June 11, the Lunar Exploration and Aerospace Engineering Center organized the first review meeting of applications for borrowing lunar scientific research samples in Beijing.

At the meeting, all members of the first lunar sample expert committee formed an evaluation committee to conduct centralized evaluation of loan applications.

37 people gave on-site defenses, and the review committee voted on all applications and formed review opinions.

  After review, 31 applications from 13 scientific research institutions were approved, corresponding to 21 samples, a total of 17.4764g, of which 6 light sheet samples were 157.6mg and 13 cuttings samples were 868.8mg.

  It is reported that in the future, new scientific research samples will be released successively according to the sample processing progress of the ground application system; the preliminary plan is to arrange the next application review for the loan of lunar scientific research samples in September this year.
