On July 12, China's 12th Arctic Scientific Expedition Team departed from Shanghai on the "Xuelong 2" to carry out scientific expedition missions to the Arctic.

This expedition is the first Arctic scientific expedition organized by China during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

According to the arrangement, this Arctic expedition is expected to have a total voyage of about 15,000 nautical miles and will return to Shanghai in late September this year.
