[Rural Revitalization] "Ecological Water" of Datong Lake in Hunan reproduces the "land of fish and rice" with the clear shores of Dongting Lake

[Explanation] In the past few days, the first batch of green prawns in Datong Lake, Yiyang, Hunan, located in the south Dongting Lake area, ushered in the market. The old fisherman Zhang Jianqing was very busy. Distribution point, after sorting and packing, it will be sold to all parts of the country.

Not bad. This year, in response to the call of the (Datong Lake) District Government, the original fish ponds will be transformed into aquatic plants with crayfish and crabs. This year, we will also experiment with aquatic plants and green prawns. The coming is still okay.

For the aquatic plants and crayfish, I have made 40 acres of water, and I have already sold nearly 100,000 yuan of crayfish. After excluding the cost of 30,000 yuan, I made 70,000 yuan.

[Explanation] 57-year-old Zhang Jianqing has been raising fish for a living since graduating from high school. He has spent his entire life in the waters of Datong Lake in the Dongting Lake area.

As an important water body and natural barrier for maintaining the ecological safety of South Dongting Lake, for a long time, Datong Lake was predatory farming by contracted enterprises, causing the lake's total phosphorus and total nitrogen to exceed the standard, and the water quality was once inferior to Category V.

In order to restore the clear water of Dongting Lake, since 2017, Datong Lake has started to "ecology water cultivation" in accordance with the plan of "retirement, pollution interception, dredging, greening, and living water".

As a fisherman born and raised in Datong Lake, at the beginning, Zhang Jianqing and the residents of the lake area were very reluctant to retreat and transform, for fear of losing their jobs for a lifetime.

Thanks to the repeated efforts of the local government, they eventually retired all of them in 2019 for the sake of the water quality of the Great Lakes and switched to planting aquatic plants to "raise water.

It turns out that in the transformation of fish ponds, the common people are indeed very resistant, because after so many years of traditional industries, they don't want to change this kind of farming mode.

[Explanation] However, what they did not expect was that the introduction of aquatic plants completely changed their destiny.

In the first half of 2020, Zhang Jianqing's family earned 10,000 yuan per mu from planting aquatic plants.

After planting grass to "raise water" to improve water quality, the local government guided the residents of the lake area to start experimenting with aquatic plants + crayfish, aquatic plants + hairy crabs, and aquatic plants + green prawns, realizing benefits from the beginning to the end of the year.

Zhang Jianqing said that the inter-breeding of hairy crabs and blue prawns requires high water quality. Therefore, aquatic planting not only raises water but also provides bait for hairy crabs and blue prawns. This not only reduces the cost of breeding, but also doubles the income from previous fish farming. The most important thing is to never again. No aquaculture tail water is discharged, it really serves multiple purposes.

In the future, it will definitely be a farming model of aquatic plants, crayfish, crabs and green prawns, and I have to make more money myself.

[Explanation] As Datong Lake bid farewell to the inferior Class V lake area and was selected as the "Excellent Case of Beautiful Rivers and Lakes", Datong Lake District launched a tourism development project, built a 11.7 km long walking trail, and planted lotus and water lilies along the coast for viewing Sex plants.

Nowadays, the Datong Lake in summer is full of rippling blue waves, rippling aquatic plants, and lush green lotus.

Every holiday, the "land of fish and rice" in Dongting with clear waters and green banks always attracts many tourists to visit the lake, enjoy flowers, bird watching, and enjoy Dongting delicacies.

This also allowed Liu Yuehua, who originally made a living in Changsha, to see the prospect of starting a business, and returned to his hometown to renovate the old house near the lake and set up a Dongting B&B.

Liu Yuehua said that the continuous improvement of the environment in Datong Lake has made her homestay business soar. In the first half of this year, she has received more than 30,000 people. She is confident that this year's homestay income will reach 700,000 yuan.

During our holidays, there are a lot of guests in Changzhutan. If it is winter, we will come to see migratory birds, and if it is summer, we will come to see the lotus.

I am particularly confident about the future development of our homestay.
