The Japanese ambassador in Beirut tweets: "They cut off the electricity to my house."

The worsening electricity crisis in Lebanon has reached the diplomatic corps in the country, as the Japanese ambassador in Beirut announced the power outage in his home.

The Japanese ambassador, Takeshi Okubo, tweeted: “The electric power in my residence has been cut off since the early morning.

I was told that there is no possibility of resuming the power supply.

All my thoughts are on hospitals and clinics.”
