Bulgarians called to the polls this Sunday for the second time in three months.

Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov appears to be in a bad mood.

Coming in first, but without a majority in the legislative elections in April, his GERB party was in decline in recent weeks in the polls.

In this context, his opponents representing the anti-corruption protesters of last summer intend to do well.

Publicity

From our special correspondent in Sofia,

Last city tour for some candidates and activists of the "There is such a people" party.

The anti-system formation of singer Slavi Trifonov is likely to come out on top on Sunday.

Stanislav Stoyanov believes in it.

“

I am very optimistic.

You know our slogan today is “

we have to do something other than the last 12 years

”.

The country needs something else,

 ”he argues.

A change which has already started… Although it came first in April, Boyko Borissov's party, the GERB, which has dominated Bulgarian political life for more than a decade, has not been able to form a government, lack of partner.

And the provisional cabinet which has taken over has embarked on a campaign of revelations, further damaging its image, which this party activist is delighted with.

“

I didn't think this change would happen so quickly.

I thought Borisov was going to fight a little better.

Me, that's fine with me, because I don't like him, I participated in the demonstrations against him, but I thought he would defend himself a little longer

 , ”he said.

"We must rebuild everything"

Five small tents in front of the gates of the Palace of Justice dressed in banners demanding the resignation of the Attorney General: this is all that remains today of the massive demonstrations of last summer against government corruption.

Lawyer Nikolay Hadjigenov was one of the organizers.

Today he is one of the figures of the “Debout!

Mafia outside ”likely to join a coalition of parties resulting from this protest movement.

“

The priority will be to reform the judicial system, the prosecutor's office, the police.

We have to destroy everything and introduce new rules, new people.

Here, the Ministry of the Interior and Justice were modeled on the Soviet model of the 1950s. They were created not to protect people's property, life and health, but to allow some to retain power. .

Corruption, the mafia, all of this must be destroyed and everything rebuilt,

 ”said Nikolay Hadjigenov.

"The road will still be very long"

The task will not be easy, predicts Dimitar Dimitrov, candidate on the lists of “Democratic Bulgaria”, another coalition resulting from the protest.

“

The oligarchic clique, this mafia that we are fighting, it will not let go so easily.

It has a lot of economic resources and it has a very extensive network across the country.

And although the sun is shining, things may appear in a fairly optimistic light and Boiko Borissov is on the way to losing these legislative elections, the road will still be very, very long

 ”, tempers Dimitar Dimitrov.

It is also necessary that these anti-corruption groups gather enough votes to form a majority and, above all, manage to get along.
