China News Service, Beijing, July 10 (Reporter Chen Hang) The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Meteorological Department on the 10th that Beijing will welcome the strongest rainfall since the flood season this year from the evening of the 11th to the night of the 12th, and the rainfall in the process will reach torrential rain to heavy rain. .

On the same day, the Beijing Meteorological Observatory conducted special discussions with the Central Meteorological Observatory, the meteorological observatories of the provinces (cities, districts) in the North China region, and the meteorological departments of the Beijing Forces. It is expected that large-scale heavy rainfall will occur in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region from the 11th to the 12th. Most areas There are heavy rains, heavy rains in some areas; accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall and hail weather.

Midnight from the 11th to the night of the 12th is the main rainfall period

Zhang Linna, chief forecaster of the Beijing Meteorological Observatory, introduced that the Beijing area will welcome the strongest rainfall since the flood season this year from the evening of the 11th to the night of the 12th, and the rainfall in the process will reach torrential rain to heavy rain.

This process has the characteristics of long duration, large accumulated rainfall, high wind, and obvious convective characteristics.

  The duration is long.

There were scattered thunderstorms around the evening of the 11th, and the main rainfall period was from midnight on the 11th to the night of the 12th. There were heavy rains to heavy rains in most areas.

In addition, there were still scattered thundershowers in Beijing from the 13th to the 14th.

  The accumulated rainfall is large.

In this process, the city's accumulated average rainfall is 60-100 mm, 100-150 mm in the western and northern regions, and 200-300 mm in individual points.

  The wind is strong.

On the 12th, the wind was strong during the day. Most areas were easterly winds of magnitude 4 or 5, and wind gusts of magnitude 7 to 9.

  Convection characteristics are obvious.

From the evening of the 11th to the morning of the 12th, the convection is strong, and the maximum hourly rain intensity can reach 80 to 100 mm; during the rainfall period, there are thunder and lightning, and there are small hail in the mountainous area.

According to the Meteorological Department, this process was mainly affected by the warm and humid airflow from the outer periphery of the subtropical high and the eastward low vortex. There was continuous water vapor transportation, coupled with the power uplift, resulting in large-scale heavy rainfall in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

However, there are uncertainties in the moving path and speed of the low vortex system that affected the heavy rainfall. The location and extreme value of the rainfall center may be adjusted. The Municipal Meteorological Observatory will closely monitor the weather and release the latest forecast and warning information in a timely manner.

There will be multiple thunderstorms next week

The Meteorological Department said that in addition to heavy rainfall from the 11th to the 12th, thunderstorms will also occur in Beijing on the 13th, 14th, and 16th to 17th.

Zhang Linna said that the rain caused slippery roads, reduced visibility, and accumulation of water in low-lying sections. Please pay attention to prevent the adverse impact on Monday morning and evening peak traffic, and arrange your travel time reasonably.

Zhang Linna said that during the first ten days of July, there was a lot of heavy rainfall (1st, 2nd, 5th), and the rainfall was more than doubled compared with the same period of normal year. The soil moisture content in mountainous areas was higher. 1. The meteorological risk of geological disasters is relatively high. The public is requested not to travel to dangerous areas, river courses, and areas with hidden geological disasters, and raise awareness of the prevention of heavy rainfall weather and secondary disasters.

In addition, there are strong convective weather such as short-term heavy rain, strong wind and hail during the rainy period. Do not stay under tall buildings, billboards, temporary structures or big trees during thunderstorms.

Agricultural production needs to take measures such as drainage and waterlogging prevention, wind prevention and reinforcement to reduce the loss of meteorological disasters.

Since the flood season, the rainfall has increased by 50% compared with the same period of normal year.

According to the Meteorological Department, since the flood season this year (June 1 to July 9), Beijing’s average rainfall was 178.6 mm, which was about 50% more than the same period of the year (125.1 mm, 1981 to 2010, the same below). The same period last year (103.4 mm) was more than 70% higher.

Among them, the average rainfall in Beijing from July 1 to 9 was 111.4 mm, which was more than double the average (48.6 mm) and more than 60% more than last year (67.0 mm).
