A tour of a famous teenager who insulted Islam in the Grand Mosque of Paris: We deserve respect (video)

The dean of the Grand Mosque of Paris received the 18-year-old French teenager Mila, whose case has caused controversy over the past months after she severely criticized Islam and the Holy Qur’an on social media platforms, and turned into a public opinion issue, sparked a large wave of controversy, and received threatening messages.

During the visit, the dean of the mosque, Shams Al-Din Hafeez, led her on a tour inside the ornate mosque building, the prayer hall, and the minaret.

At the end of the two-hour tour and under heavy security, the dean of the Paris Mosque told teenage girl Mila that the Paris mosque was "open to her at any time."

Adding that the doors of this religious edifice are open to everyone as well in order to show the reality of what Islam means.

"It is clear that Islam is a religion that deserves respect," he said, noting that he believed Mila's "sharp words" came in a "special context" and were used to bully her online.

This visit comes days after a French court convicted 11 of the 13 people accused of threatening her, forcing her to change her school and prompting the police to permanently protect her.
