The "Oral History of the Dongjiang Column", which is more than 600,000 words long, records the numerous deeds of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade of the Dongjiang Column in resisting the Japanese army during the three and eight months of the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. It is planned to be published in the near future.
The book reproduces the war years of the Hong Kong people's war of resistance from the perspective of an experienced person, and the historical story of Hong Kong and the mainland sharing the glory and shame in the national crisis.
The book is the oral data obtained by Li Yizhuang, a retired teacher of Sun Yat-sen University, who is 88 years old, from 1978 to 1984, and was published with the support of the Hong Kong and Macao Development Research Institute of Sun Yat-Sen University.
Li Yizhuang was born in the Liang Peiji family, a famous family in Guangdong.
Her mother, Liang Aiyi, is the eldest daughter of Liang Peiji, the founder of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group Mingxing Pharmaceutical, "Southern Guangdong sage".
"A total of more than 20 people in our family participated in the Dongjiang column, and one of them was a martyr." Li Yizhuang said.
The background of many members of the family participating in the Dongjiang column and participating in the Anti-Japanese War gave Li Yizhuang an opportunity to interview these old players.
After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Li Yizhuang worked in the Art Creation Room of the Cultural Bureau of Guangzhou. She thought of combining her profession with the stories of the Dongjiang Columns-to write the story of the Dongjiang Columns into a movie script.
She was interviewed by more than 70 veteran members of the Dongjiang Column after being recommended by the senior members of the family.
A large number of interviewees and detailed memoirs have enriched the historical data of the Dongjiang Column in Hong Kong's cooperation with the Allied forces and the fight against the Japanese. Among them, many of the combat stories of the team members have appeared for the first time.
Luo Yuzhong, a member of the Luo family in Nanchong, Sha Tau Kok, known as the "first anti-Japanese house in Hong Kong," was one of them.
According to Luo Yuzhong’s memory to Li Yizhuang, after the Dongjiang Column entered Hong Kong, the local residents organized the Hong Kong-Kowloon Brigade. On the one hand, they rescued Chinese cultural celebrities and international friends arrested by the Japanese army. On the other hand, Hong Kong was captured by the Japanese army. When the people are not living, the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade has also taken on the important task of eliminating bandits and protecting the villagers, which is deeply loved by the local people.
In early 1944, local fishermen rescued a US pilot who was shot down by the Japanese army and fell into the sea and notified the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade.
Luo Yuzhong knew English and was sent to meet the pilot.
They were searched by Japanese electric boats on their way back to the maritime squadron of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Battalion. Fortunately, the maritime squadron was well prepared, and there was a thrilling rescue naval battle between the two sides.
The literary and artistic Hong Kong youth Huang Shimin was only 17 years old when he participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan. He joined the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade’s anti-trait group. His main task was to understand the traitors in the villages that had contact with Japan and prevent the traitors from passing information to the Japanese army.
According to Li Yizhuang's recollection, Yuen Long's Japanese military traitor translator "Linhuhu" used the Japanese forces to rampage. The local villagers resented him. In addition, he knew about the guerrillas and often offered plans to attack the guerrillas.
The members of the anti-rape team disguised themselves, hung in ambush on the road, and captured the "Lin Tiger" alive, which caused a great response locally.
In addition to Luo Yuzhong, Huang Shiming, Tan Tian, Jiang Peiquan and many other heroic stories of Hong Kong patriotic villagers participating in the War of Resistance against Japan, there are also many memories of patriotic overseas Chinese returning to China in the War of Resistance against Japan, including Thai overseas Chinese Wu Yi and others.
Li Yizhuang said that because the purpose of the initial interview was to interview the movie script, she also recorded the love stories of many members of the Dongjiang Column during the war, and collected many war songs of the Dongjiang Column.
In addition, she also used her painting skills to leave many portraits and battle maps of Dongjiang team members.
According to the Hong Kong and Macao Development Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University, the "Oral History of Dongjiang Column" is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on war and combat experience: first the two Dongjiang Column leaders summarized the development history of Dongjiang Column, and then the soldiers of each unit. Memories of combat experience.
Followed by everyone's memories of the typical character-the battle hero Liu Heizai.
The second part is mainly about unarmed struggle work, including: the united front and international rescue work, the work of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade and the Hong Kong war: the growth experience of overseas Chinese and Hong Kong and Macao fighters; radio confidentiality, ideological propaganda, intelligence work, transportation work; and marriage and love during the war Feelings with home and country.
