But after a few months delay, the event could start on Tuesday.

Everyone is curious to see "what will be the festival this year"?
There are fewer people here and quite quiet.
At the same time, there are more films than usual.
many films have been turned upside down during the pandemic and are going out, says Emma Engström, journalist at Swedish Radio, on location in Cannes.
It started with the French musical film Annette, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, directed by Leos Carax.
- It is quite typical that it is a French film that begins.
It's very European this year and fewer Hollywood movies.
Netflix is missing
Cannes is a completely cinema-bound festival.
All films that compete must have had a cinema premiere in France.
This has been a hot topic of discussion for a few years now because Netflix has refused to comply with the terms.
Consequently, the streaming giant's films are completely missing.
- The festival management has said that they will not make any changes and that Netflix will meet them.
But many people think that they are too traditional and do not understand the streaming services, says Emma Engström.
