This place called "Xiucai Village" is Dongchen Village.
According to historical records, from the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty to the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the Li family of Dongchen Village came out in large numbers, including 2 Jinshi, 2 Juren, 24 Gongshi, Gongsheng, and 113 Shengyuan, Guangsheng, Wusheng, etc.
Not only that, but in ancient times it was an official road to and from the county, where carts and horses travelled and commerce was prosperous.
The members of the Li clan not only study hard, but are also good at doing business. They even have their own business names in Beijing, Tianjin and other places. Therefore, there is a common saying that "when you go to Dongchenpo, you are a silver nest".
Located in the center of the village, the Li's Ancestral Hall was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and recorded the rise and fall of an official and business family that lasted for more than 600 years.
According to reports, traditional Shanxi merchants’ courtyards, such as the Qiao Family Courtyard and the Wang Family Courtyard, share the common characteristics of tall buildings and deep houses with internal courtyards connected to form a huge complex of buildings; while the courtyards of Dongchen Village consist of various households. It is self-contained and has a strong cultural atmosphere.
Wen Jinfeng, secretary of the Party branch of Dongchen Village, introduced that the village has a Ming and Qing architectural complex with a construction area of 100,000 square meters, a well-preserved bluestone archway of filial piety with a height of 8 meters and a width of 7 meters, as well as exquisite brick and wood carvings with mottos and pictures. , Yingbi, etc., have been included in the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages in December 2016.
In recent years, Dongchen Village has begun to develop rural tourism with the help of historical and cultural resources. It has not only opened the official account of the "Old Town of Official Business-Dongchen Village", held the "New Rhyme of Ancient Village" photography competition, and the motorcycle field cross-country slope race. A branch venue of the Tourism Development Conference in Shanxi Province has received more than 100,000 tourists.
This small village hidden deep in the mountains has gradually become known to the outside world. The 74-year-old retired village cadre Li Fenghua took the initiative to take on the job of a voluntary guide, and also created a lot of jingle: "There is a big temple behind the village, and there is a small temple on the street. Nowadays, strolling in Dongchen Village, the square, fitness equipment, public toilets, tourist reception center and other infrastructure are all available, and the green area is also increasing.
In March last year, Dongchen Village was also awarded the honor of "National Forest Village" by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration.
