According to the latest figures published by Public Health France, 7,384 Covid patients are currently hospitalized, and 971 serious cases are being treated in critical care services.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 35,333,191 people have received at least one injection of the vaccine.

The number of Covid-19 patients in hospital and in critical care services continued to decline, with less than 7,500 hospitalized patients, including less than 1,000 serious cases, according to data from Public Health France released Thursday.

In total, 7,384 Covid patients are hospitalized (including 100 new hospitalizations in 24 hours), against 7,539 on Wednesday.

And 971 serious cases are treated in critical care services (including 26 new admissions in 24 hours), against 997 cases Wednesday and about 2,400 a month earlier.

The number of patients in critical care due to Covid fell below 1,000 on Wednesday, for the first time since September 23.

The number of cases has increased again in recent days

But if the hospital's numbers continue to drop, the number of cases has tended to increase again in recent days, which is attributed to the Delta variant, which is more contagious.

Figures for new contaminations were not yet available early Thursday evening.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 35,333,191 people have received at least one injection (or 52.4% of the total population) and 26,302,376 people have been fully vaccinated (or 39% of the population).
