First stair climb at the 74th Cannes Film Festival

Four very big names in cinema - Pedro Almodovar, Spike Lee, Jodie Foster and Bong Joon-ho - have united their voices to officially kick off the Cannes Film Festival and restart the Dream Factory, after long months marked by the coronavirus pandemic.

Cannes experienced its first climb of the stairs under Covid-19.

Celebrities, from Jessica Chastain to Adam Driver through singer Angèle or Mylène Farmer, have obtained permission to remove their masks.

After the ceremony, the competition officially began with the screening of an opening film in the form of fireworks,

, a rock opera by a director as cult as it is rare: Leos Carax.
