33.2 thousand dirhams drug bill "Abu Muhammad" for 6 months

Abu Muhammad, a 57-year-old Syrian, suffers from heart problems and permanently severe high cholesterol and blood pressure, in addition to gout.

The complications of the disease are increasing day after day, exposing his health to further decline and threatening his life.

The patient currently needs medication and treatment at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital, with a value of 33,204 dirhams, for a period of six months, but his financial capabilities and health conditions do not allow him to manage this amount.

Abu Muhammad appealed to philanthropists to help him manage the cost of his medicines, for fear of endangering his life.

The patient told «Emirates Today» that his suffering with the disease began in 2010, as his health condition deteriorated significantly, and he felt tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, dryness in the throat and severe fatigue.

As a result, he lost his ability to carry out daily activities normally, suddenly lost weight, and noticed that his wounds take a long time to heal, no matter how superficial or small.

He added: "As a result of my deteriorating health condition, I went to the emergency department of a private hospital in Abu Dhabi, close to my residence, and after seeing my specialist doctor, he asked me to perform tests and laboratory analyzes.

The results of the tests showed that I suffer from an irregular heartbeat, a blockage in one of the heart valves, and a sharp rise in blood pressure and cholesterol.

The doctor advised me to perform an urgent catheterization operation so that my health would not deteriorate further.”

He continued, “I immediately agreed to the operation and stayed in the hospital for 10 days receiving health care.

When my condition stabilized, I was discharged from the hospital, and the doctor advised me to carry out continuous periodic examinations, in addition to continuing to take medicines on time, follow a diet to prevent high blood pressure, exercise, and take sufficient time for psychological rest.

The patient explained that his current low financial position makes him unable to provide any part, no matter how simple, of the costs of medicines, after reducing his salary in the private company in which he works from 5000 dirhams to 2900 dirhams, pointing out that his salary covers the family's necessary needs of food and drink. Just.

He expressed his hope that good hands would reach him and help him manage the cost of drugs for pressure, cholesterol and gout to save his life.
