On July 4, Henan Sanmenxia Water Control Project opened the Yellow River water and sediment regulation before the flood of 2021 to help flush the tail of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir and provide follow-up power for the water and sediment regulation of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir.
According to the dispatching instructions, the Sanmenxia Reservoir will release 2000 cubic meters per second and 4000 cubic meters per second for 4 hours from 9 o'clock on the same day; from 17 o'clock, the discharge will be controlled at 4500 cubic meters per second until it is released. The amount of water discharged for the second time was about 500 million cubic meters and the amount of sand discharged was about 30 million tons.
