On July 2, 2021, the water of the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River in Yichuan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, showed turquoise green.
Due to the lack of rainfall in the upper reaches of the river, the water level of the Yellow River Grand Canyon in Shanxi and Shaanxi has dropped. The flow of the river on that day was only 490 cubic meters. The water of the waterfall is different from the yellow water in the past and presents aquamarine green. It has a different beautiful scenery and attracts many tourists.
