Jordanian jurists confirmed that the “Parental Discipline” law, which allows parents to discipline their children without specifying the methods of reprimanding and in a manner that preserves from exaggeration in the education process, is loose and must be abolished.

The Ammon website quoted the two laws as saying that “the increasing severity of domestic violence requires expediting the protection of children’s rights in light of official delays, without considering the consequences that the law imposes on the lives of many children, given the space it provides to justify the behavior of some parents in Dealing with violence in solving family problems “demanding the need to introduce specialized articles in the Penal Code that criminalize acts committed against any child with the intent of harming from within the family.”

Lawyer Amjad Al-Kurdi said that “the term “parental discipline” is loose and still occupies a wide area of controversy and divergence of opinions, between supporters of the aforementioned article and those opposed to the entire legal text.
