"Over the past day, July 3, 116 forest fires were liquidated in Russia on an area of 3,697 hectares," RIA Novosti quoted a message as saying.
It is noted that the most difficult situation with fires is observed in Yakutia, where 150 fires were recorded on an area of more than 314 614 hectares.
Earlier it became known that a detachment of firefighters from Avialesoohrana arrived in Chukotka to help fight forest fires.
