A 72-year-old Saudi woman divorces her husband: he deserted me and neglected me
A Saudi court ruled annulling the marriage of a 72-year-old Saudi woman, in response to a divorce suit that she filed, and justified her request to divorce her husband for his neglect and abandonment of her in the legal relationship 15 years ago.
According to the ruling published by Okaz newspaper, the court informed the wife that she must wait for three months from the date of receipt of the ruling at the beginning of the week, and not to marry or be subjected to a letter until her waiting period ends.
The plaintiff had explained before the court the occurrence of discord, hypocrisy and hatred for her husband, from whom she bore seven children, and explained what she had reached in her family life of discord, alienation and hatred that necessitated consideration of her dismissal with kindness after he deserted her for more than 15 years and what caused psychological, social and physical harm to her.
The husband replied to the lawsuit that he was happy with his wife and did not want to divorce her and provided her with all her requirements to the fullest, and said that he married her 9 years ago due to circumstances after her health deteriorated and asked for her advice and the dismissal of the lawsuit.
