In 2018, the library received a grant of SEK 30 million from the charity fund Arcadia with the aim of digitizing the Swedish press heritage from 1645 to 1906. But the number of newspaper pages turned out to be more than KB estimated and with a new grant of another SEK 15 million, the project will be completed.
6.3 million free pages
Previously, the oldest material came mainly from the larger cities, but now the local press will also be digital.
The big gossip and sensational magazines of the time will also be included in the archive.
By 2023, there will be 6.3 million free newspaper pages on the service.
