The serious theft occurred on the Friday before Pentecost. The alleged perpetrator Yasemin G. had the task of preparing cash deliveries for customers later that evening. During this activity, she branched off the large banknotes and stowed them in a metal roll container, which she was then able to smuggle out of the building despite various safety measures and regulations.

The container was loaded into a black Mercedes-Benz Vito, which then drove away with the woman. The number plates of the transporter (HB-DW 143) had been stolen just a few hours earlier in Bremen. The van itself had been rented two days earlier in Berlin-Spandau and was returned there on the weekend of Pentecost. The employee reported sick to her employer after the crime. According to the Weser courier, the theft was not noticed until the Tuesday after Whitsun.

The police have already arrested an alleged assistant to Yasemin G. In the case of G. herself, there were indications that she might have gone abroad. The Bremen police are also looking for other possible accomplices. The Bremen police are currently not providing any information on the question of whether they suspect organized crime structures to be behind the crime.
