On Thursday, July 8, the fantastic action movie "Black Widow" - the 24th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, dedicated to the superheroine Natasha Romanoff, whose role in the films of the series is played by Scarlett Johansson, will be widely released. Florence Pugh (Elena Belova), David Harbor (The Red Guard), Ray Winston (Drakes), Rachel Weisz (Melina Vostokova) and other actors also got the central roles in the new film. The film was directed by Keith Shortland (her filmography includes such films as "Berlin Syndrome" and "16. Love. Reboot").

The main action of the film takes place after the events of the tape of 2016 "The First Avenger: Confrontation". At the same time, the plot includes some scenes telling about the early years of the heroine's life and how young Natasha turned out to be a pupil of Draikov, who runs the "Red Room" - a program for training spies and murderers, the so-called Black Widows. Almost the entire plot of the picture is built around the "room" - Natasha sets out to destroy the base and free other "widows" whose creation is completely controlled by the antagonist.

Despite the rich adventure plot, special attention is paid to the emotional component of the picture. At the same time, the personal life of the heroine is presented on the screen without numerous details and interesting facts. Unfortunately, the filmmakers bypassed the story about the preparation of young Natasha - only a few minutes are allotted for it, and the information is conveyed in a short cut of shots, which gives too general an idea of the life of the future murderers in those years. Subsequent events also very selectively shed light on Natasha's past.

At the same time, the focus is often on the heroine's inner throwings and experiences, thanks to which the viewer has a fairly comprehensive idea of her character.

Natasha is shown so emotional and sensitive that at some point you involuntarily begin to wonder - how can such a person kill at all?

The secondary, but at the same time very bright heroine Rachel Weisz and Elena Belova performed by Florence Pugh look more convincing as spies.

Belova has given so much screen time that sometimes she, thanks in part to Pew's brilliant play, almost overshadows Natasha.

However, the real finest hour of Romanoff comes closer to the end of the picture: then the heroine demonstrates not only all her talents, but also exceptional dedication.

But only female characters are so effective in the tape.

In principle, there are few central male men, and those that exist sometimes cause one bewilderment.

So, the Red Guard looks like a real clown, which manifests itself in his communication with loved ones, and in the memories of Captain America, suggestive of the Guardian's obsession, and in everyday life.

There are two other men in the film, whose participation especially influences the plot of the picture.

One of them is shown as a fanatic, devoid of everything human, and the second is a faceless assistant who appears only when Natasha needs his help.

"Black Widow" as a whole turned out to be very feminine.

In addition to the obvious quantitative predominance of the heroines and their physical and intellectual superiority, an unusually many sentimental scenes are presented on the screen.

This picture is complemented by very detailed conversations about the reproductive functions of "widows".

What is happening fits well into the format of a film about a superheroine and corresponds to modern trends, however, more attention and respect for the elaboration of male characters from the authors of the tape would also not hurt.

One of the advantages of the film is humor, which successfully and in a timely manner dilutes the rather serious tone of the story.

True, one of the funniest and certainly the most memorable joke, ridiculing the spectacular poses of superheroes, is repeated too often and after the second time it stops being funny.

It is especially funny to observe the family relationships of the central characters: here the comparison of superheroes with the Addams family suggests itself.

Despite who the heroes are in the Marvel Universe, what actions they had to do, and how many people suffered at their hands, everything inside the family is arranged like ordinary people - with the exception of some nuances that just provoke the viewer to laugh.

So, for example, during the next very specific conversation, the mother may demand from her daughter that she does not slouch, and the father is proud of his girls because their hands are covered in blood not up to the elbows, but up to the shoulders.

As expected, the staging of the action in the film is at its best.

The crash of the base where the Black Widows are trained looks especially spectacular and large-scale.

Numerous battle scenes turned out to be no less spectacular.

Some of them feature beautiful, mesmerizing, almost danceable choreography.

One of these episodes is a short scene of the preparation of dozens of Black Widows, after which a desire arises to look at all the girls in battle at the same time.

Filmmakers give the viewer such an opportunity towards the end of the film, but there, due to too fast editing, the choreography is somewhat blurred and no longer looks so impressive.

In general, "Black Widow" is an unusual (for superhero pictures) emotional story, allowing not only to observe the main development of the plot, but also to empathize with the characters in many moments.

Despite the connection with other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this one looks almost like a film in its own right. Filmmakers pay attention to details and during the film answer almost all questions that may arise even from a spectator unfamiliar with the universe. At the same time, "Black Widow" successfully complements the general superhero story, allowing you to reconsider your perception of the character in other films of the franchise.
