• The prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine is defending itself after the accusations of Mediapart accusing it of having blocked access to the Redon rave to the firefighters.

  • Several people had been injured during clashes between gendarmes and revelers.

  • A 22-year-old man lost his hand in unclear circumstances.

The reaction came from a statement Thursday evening.

Accused of having prohibited access to the site of the Redon rave party to firefighters, the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine spoke Thursday evening and "formally denies the allegations of Mediapart".

On Wednesday evening, the news site had published a long article fueled by several testimonies supporting this thesis.

During the night of clashes from June 18 to 19 between revelers and gendarmes, several people were injured.

In particular, a man had lost his hand but was not taken care of by the emergency services.

It was a participant who had taken him to the hospital on her own.

Additional resources committed during the night

In its press release, the Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture assures that it has triggered the rescue system "as soon as possible, in an appropriate and progressive manner, on the night of June 18 to 19", specifying that the firefighters and approved safety associations Civilian (Red Cross and ADPC) were activated by the prefecture at 1:04 a.m. on Saturday morning.

First aid would have arrived on site shortly before 2 a.m.: a group leader, a nurse and an ambulance as well as a pump machine.

About 1,500 people were then at this gathering banned by the prefecture.

"Additional resources were engaged on several occasions during the night to take care of victims, some of whom had in the meantime gone to the hospital on their own".

Twenty wounded at the advanced medical post

According to data from the prefecture, 20 wounded were taken care of at the advanced medical post, seven of which required hospitalization.

Several gendarmes were also injured during the clashes.

The management of the Redon rave party was criticized by several associations and by the organizers of the rally.

The latter particularly regret the destruction of part of their material which they consider “illegal”.

Legal action will be taken.

Three investigations are still underway to shed light on this evening.
