A special class was held on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture to let local children know about flatfish, which is aiming to restore resources.

The special class held on Awaji Island for the "National Rich Sea Making Tournament" to be held in Hyogo Prefecture next year was held by Awaji City and the prefecture, and 45 fifth graders from nearby Kitatan Elementary School participated. ..

Unlike similar flatfish, most of the flatfish released by prefectures and fisheries cooperatives aiming to recover resources are facing to the left, and because they grow by eating shrimp and small fish, their jaws are strong and their teeth are strong. I learned that a lot of flounder is growing.

Then, after touching and observing the fry of about 10 cm in length, about 600 fish were released at the beach, hoping that they would grow up well.

The girl who participated said, "It was small and it made me feel good when I touched it. I want you to grow up very big and energetic."

Mr. Toshiyuki Takagi of the Planning Division of the Hyogo Prefecture National Rich Sea Making Tournament said, "I want you to remember that you touched the flatfish and get a job in fisheries when you grow up."
